Portland teachers win grant to attend CERES International Conference

Four teachers from Lincoln Middle School in Portland, Maine, have won a grant of nearly $10,000 to attend the CERES International Conference in June. The four are the only Maine educators among approximately 500 teachers across the USA to win such “golden ticket” fellowships for summer learning odysseys. Their attendance is part of a teacher-led strategy to build both the teachers’ capacity and the school’s capacity to initiate conversations about race and recognise and respond to systemic racial bias impacting their teaching and learning community.

There is still time to register to attend the conference in June. Click here to register.
